He has dazzled people with each of his performances across different parts of the world and continues to spread his “magic” around.
To have the vision to attain specific goals and aspirations in life is one thing, but to have the courage to walk on less trodden roads, face challenges head-on, hustle, learn each day, and give one’s all to turn those visions into a reality is a different game altogether. Very few belong to the latter category, but the ones who do showcase how hard work, perseverance, and passion can lead people to become the success stories they wish to be in their journeys. Among the many professionals striving to make their mark across their chosen industries, one name that has been making a lot of buzz is Normando Macalinao, a man of true passion and love for magic.
Normando Macalinao or better know as Normando The Magician is a Filipino talent, who moved to Dubai in 2014 in his pursuits of creating an impactful career of his, but little did he know that he would have to start work as a dishwasher/waiter in a hotel in Dubai. However, he had fallen in love with magic as a kid and, over the years, had practiced tricks and acts and honed his intuitive skills. Hence, he would practice in front of the hotel guests and soon was discovered by a talent agency. This led him to do his independent magic shows, and now he has become a sought-after illusionist and magician, dazzling people with his magic tricks, acts, and performances, holding their attention for the longest and making it all look effortless.
It all began for him as a kid from a small village in the Philippines called Aliaga, who had an encounter with a local magician whose magic trick turned a red ball into two in his hands. This astonished young Normando, and that ignited the love in him for magic. This incident still inspires him as the “red ball” illusion continues to stun people in his own performances.
Besides being this incredible magician, Normando Macalinao remains an active member of the local community, developing a special connection with young minds by training, teaching, and counselling them to lead them in the right direction. His charity encourages showcases of budding talents in the Gulf and even in his hometown.
