Drug addiction is something people from all walks of life might battle. Sadly, some lose this battle, but others manage to overcome this dependency and turn their lives around. Adam Gunton falls into the latter category, and now he is on a mission to help others do the same.
Adam graduated from Columbine High School in 2007 where he was a two sport All-Star athlete. Shortly after graduation, he was a homeless drug addict. Today, Adam is a serial entrepreneur with one of his businesses being a rehab center. Just two years after his recovery, he is seeing 7-figure incomes through public speaking and his #1 bestselling book From Chains to Saved.
Speaking is one of Adam’s most powerful tools in helping people overcome addiction. He feels that if recovered attics can tell their stories, it can help with recovery and even prevention of drug and alcohol abuse. Adam bases this on the principle of being loud about recover so others do not suffer, or even die, in silence. This is a mantra that is as powerful as it is effective. Use of intravenous drugs transformed Adam from a straight-A student to getting kicked out of various shelters. He feels that this hidden habit could have been stopped while he was still in high school if the right mentor had come along.
Adam has identified the average ages that experimentation with banned substances begins. For boys it is 10-11 and for girls it is 12-13. Realizing that addiction begins in the school system (as it did for him), Adam founded Recovered on Purpose in November of 2019 and is a CMOO at Rocky Mountain Health Advocates. He has developed an expertise in recognizing toxic behavioral patterns and an effective method for inspiring youths to overcome addiction and turn their lives around. He tailors his coaching programs on an individual basis to give each of his young clients 100% of his knowledge and energy. Simply put, Adam has created the program that he needed to overcome addiction.
Adam has also developed an expertise in training sales figures to overcome fear. He utilizes the same tactics he uses with clients as both methods inspire these groups to love passionate and purposeful lives. To those dealing with addiction, Adam shows them how to live better lives and how to deter peers from going down this difficult path.
Adam is also determined to remove the stigma of substance abuse. One of the reasons it is so hard for addicts to seek treatment is due to the shame and guilt that will inevitably be directed toward them. It is this shaming that prevents many people from getting the help they dearly need. Adam wants people to hold their heads high and tell their story so they can provide such help.
