Guru Sangeet Academy was established by Ustad Baljit Singh Namdhari, to keep ancient tradition of Guru and Shishya(parampara) relation alive in today’s world. In this music academy students are being taught Indian classical music, Gurbani Kirtan(Classical) with raagas in its original form and rare indian ancient instruments like Dilruba, Esraj, Tauus, Rabab, Tar-shehnai along with Harmonium and Tabla.
Though Ustad Ji is teaching music since last 40 years to hundreds of disciples all over the world but this initiative is a revolutionary step towards the new generation who are seeking guidance to pursue music as their career. While today’s generation is under the influence of western culture and is forgetting the incredible Indian classical music and customs, So to inculcate and tune in the demolishing art in today’s generation with this perspective this academy is being established.
Ustad ji says today’s youth is jaunty and they need a proper direction to make our traditional classical music and singing of top notch quality. We tried hard altogether in this direction and our students worked hard with dedication and were praised, beloved by all, alot. We want that every child who’s having interest in music and are recognized by their parents via there small indications like humming and playing music beating table chair etc. to become good singers and musicians in the future.
Ustad Piara Singh Ji (Ustad Baljit singh ji’s Teacher) used to say that the one who delicately learns music with devotion and faith in teaching of Teacher turns out to be a great artist for sure. If we have a look into the pages of history, we can find famous names like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Bade Gulaam Ali Khan etc. They worked hard under the Guru-Shishya tradition and get renowned for their art worldwide.
Whether you’re a listener or performer, have no prior musical training, or have been classically trained in indian/western instrument, Guru Sangeet Academy welcomes students with a range of beliefs and musical backgrounds. We are an inclusive school of music, and prior musical experience is not a requirement as we provide a rigorous training in foundation musical skills.

We encourage personal musical expression and our passionate and dedicated team of music teachers have extensive experience teaching students We welcome families who wish to start learning together and offer a safe, focused and supportive environment for all ages.
As well as learning during weekly classes during term-time, students have the opportunity to perform at a variety of events including kirtan darbars and festivals.
With a motive to spread Gurbani Classical Music(along with Hindustani Classical) with String Instruments like Esraj,Dilruba,Taus,Rabab,Tar-shehnai, Sarangi etc widely. Academy commenced Guru Sangeet Festival in 2016. This Festival saw performances of legendary musicians and Guru Sangeet Academy’s Students. Artists like Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra,Pt. Yogesh Samsi, Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra, Sh. Ayaan Ali Bangash, Sh. Fateh Singh Gangani,Sh. Nishant Gupta, Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Ms Ragini Shankar, Pt. Sanju Sahai,Sh. Abhay Sopori, Pt. Shubh Maharaj, Sh. Pravin Godkhindi, Ustad Akram Khan and many more along with performances by the Founders of Festival Ustad Baljit Singh Namdhari, Fateh Singh Namdhari and Laxmi Namdhari.
By good fortune and grace Festival had seen presence of Renowned Maestros and Musicians like Pt. Birju Maharaj, Smt Uma Sharma, Smt Gursharan Kaur, Sh. Darshan Kumar (T-series),Ms. Subhalakshmi Khan, Sh. Daler Mehendi, Smt Geetanjali Lal to many such more.
Academy’s Students presented various Compositions in traditional Ragas and style such as Raag Tilang Chautaal,Raag Puriya Dhanasree Drut Teentaal, Raag Kanada Partaal, Raag Bageshree Rudra Taal,Raag Kedar Dhrupad ,Raag Bihag Drut Teentaal,Raag Poorvi Drut Teentaal ,Raag Gauri Poorvi Padtaal, Raag Gauri to many more.
